Abstract
This work presents a theoretical study about the development process of Latin
American cinema starting with the groups of the New Latin American Cinema of the
sixties and seventies up to undertake a study of the Newest Latin American Cinema,
based on Galo Alfredo Torres’ thesis: “Héroes Menores. Neorrealismo Cotidiano y
Cine Latinoamericano Contemporáneo de Entresiglos,” with the goal that it becomes
a guide to understand the daily neorealist filmic current and to reach a coherent
appropriation of language and narrative to implement it in the development of the
footage “Tienda” produced by students of the School of Cinema of the Faculty of
Philosophy at the University of Cuenca.
Within all this context, we will carry out a study of the Italian Neorealism,
current that became a direct influence for Latin American cinemas from the sixties
to the present, finding areas of resonance and certain coincidences in several films
belonging to these cinematography.
Finally, we will do a self-reflexive analysis about the film “Tienda” where we
will address its process of narrative and aesthetic appropriation expecting that this
footage gets integrated into the daily neorealism.
Resumen
El presente trabajo despliega un estudio teórico sobre el proceso de
desarrollo de los cines latinoamericanos, iniciando con las agrupaciones del Nuevo
Cine Latinoamericano de los años sesenta y setenta, hasta llegar a plantear un
estudio del Novísimo Cine Latinoamericano, basado en la tesis de Galo Alfredo
Torres: Héroes Menores. Neorrealismo Cotidiano y Cine Latinoamericano
Contemporáneo de Entresiglos, con el objetivo de que sea una guía para entender
la corriente fílmica neorrealista cotidiana y poder llegar a una apropiación coherente
de su lenguaje y narrativa para ponerla en práctica en el desarrollo del metraje
“Tienda” realizado por estudiantes de la Carrera de Cine de la Facultad de Filosofía
de la Universidad de Cuenca.
Dentro de todo este contexto, realizaremos un estudio del Neorrealismo
Italiano, corriente que se convirtió en influencia directa para los cines
latinoamericanos desde los años sesenta hasta la actualidad, encontrando zonas
de resonancia y ciertas coincidencias en diversas películas pertenecientes a estas
cinematografías, para finalmente realizar un análisis autorreflexivo del metraje
“Tienda” donde abordaremos su proceso de apropiación narrativa y estética,
esperando que el metraje se integre al neorrealismo cotidiano.
