Violencia intrafamiliar y factores asociados en estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería, Cuenca 2017

Abstract

Background: The domestic violence is considered like a problem of social interest that transcends worldwide level. This brings complications along in the educational context, mainly in the students, where the psychological, physical, sexual, the low self-esteem, academic low performance, desertion, between other ones stand out. Objective: Identifying the domestic violence and factors correlated in students of the nursing race of the University of Cuenca, 2017 Materials and Methods: It came true a quantitative study, observational, analytical cross-section, with 193 university students. He applied over himself a scale and a fill-out form designed for such effect. SPSS analyzed the data by means of the program themselves 19,0. They calculated measures of central tendency and dispersion, as well as frequencies and percentages for the categorized variables. Results: the studied population comprised between 20 and 25 years old, 57.5%, 2nd and 3rd cycle of studies, mainly single, of urban origin and single-parent families with medium socioeconomic status. 49.2% said they had suffered some type of violence, the psychological being the most common with 48.2%, the main factors associated are not resorting to support entities against violence 51.8%, little home communication 42.5% and the criterion that the wife should have sexual relations with her husband, even if she does not want 75.6%, and the ignorance of support institutions 68.9%. Findings: The violence against the woman show tall numbers even on the university students, and the lack of familiar communication is very related to violence: Physicist, psychological and patrimonial, while being witness to violence in infancy associates with the patrimonial violence
