Determinantes sociales de la salud de las familias de El Cebollar, Cuenca 2010

Abstract

The social determinants of health are the circumstances in which people are born, grow, live, work and age, including the health system. These circumstances are the result of the distribution of money, power and resources at global, national and local, which in turn depends on the policies adopted. The main purpose of this study is to establish the social determinants of health in the families from El Cebollar, Cuenca 2010. Our universe was composed by 1041 files from the MSP, carried out in the population from Bellavista Parish, collected during the period of January, 2008- September, 2010. Objective: To establish the characteristics of health-disease process and its determinants in people from El Cebollar.

Methods and techniques: Quantitative, observational and transversal investigation was realized. The files processing were executed in SPSS program. And for the hypothesis testing, we used the following statistical methods: Descriptive point: by number and percentage; Analytic for Odds ratio, confidence interval and p value.

Mainresults The factors most affecting the population are the socio-economic, many of them non-writable (overcrowding, unemployment, homelessness), to turn some people with any kind of diseaseare 25,91%.

Main conclusions: Few studies exist to corroborate the information found locally. It suggests new research, which seek improvement of control systems and improved access to general information.
