Abstract
The project proposes the establishment of a raw milk collection center in the parish of San Gerardo, Girón canton, in the Azuay Province of Ecuador. The goal is to optimize the efficiency of the collection, storage, and marketing of raw milk in the area. This center is designed to promote the economic development of small and medium-sized dairy farmers in the region. Using a descriptive-exploratory methodology, the current context was identified and described, providing a detailed and concrete view of the social and productive environment, identifying the resources available in the San Gerardo area. Through 45 surveys of milk producers, the required information was collected, accessible data verified, and trends investigated. Market research was conducted to determine demand, which confirmed that the companies Quesos Danielito, Planta de Lácteos Santiaguito, and Lácteos San Fernando, which represent the buyers of the product delivered to the receiving plant, are willing to purchase milk from the center, with a current demand of 5,000 liters per day. These results are used to project a five-year demand projection that will ensure the collection center's operation. Information was obtained by reviewing previous studies, government data, and current regulations and rules for the design and implementation of the center. The quantitative approach was based on the collection of data on costs and investments based on project engineering, financing options, and analysis of projections to evaluate the technical, financial, legal, and socio-environmental feasibility of the collection center. Financial indicators such as the Net Present Value (USD 208,050.26), Internal Rate of Return (36%), Benefit-Cost Ratio (1.13), and Break-Even Point (1,409,919 liters) were calculated, data that establish the feasibility of implementing this collection center in the San Gerardo parish.
Resumen
El proyecto propone el establecimiento de un centro de acopio de leche cruda en la parroquia San Gerardo del cantón Girón en la Provincia del Azuay Ecuador, con el propósito de optimizar la eficiencia en la recogida, almacenamiento y comercialización de la leche cruda en la localidad. Este centro se concibe para fomentar el desarrollo económico de los pequeños y medianos ganaderos de la región. Utilizando la metodología descriptiva- exploratoria se identificó y describió el contexto actual y se obtuvo una visión detallada y concreta del entorno social y productivo, identificando los recursos con que cuenta la zona de San Gerardo. A través de 45 encuestas a los productores de leche, se recopiló la información requerida, se verificaron los datos accesibles y se investigaron tendencias. Se realizó una investigación del mercado para establecer la demanda el cual verificó que las compañías Quesos Danielito, Planta de Lácteos Santiaguito y Lácteos San Fernando, que representan los compradores del producto arrimado a la planta receptora, están dispuestos a comprarle leche al centro, estableciéndose una demanda actual de 5000 litros diarios. Con estos resultados se proyecta la demanda a cinco años que garantizaran el funcionamiento del centro de acopio. Se obtuvo información revisando estudios previos, data gubernamental y normativa y regulaciones vigentes para el diseño e implementación del referido centro. El enfoque cuantitativo se basó en la recolección de datos sobre costos e inversiones basados en la ingeniería del proyecto, opciones de financiamiento y análisis de las proyecciones para evaluar la factibilidad técnica, financiera, legal y socioambiental del centro de acopio. Se calcularon indicadores financieros como el Valor Actual Neto (208.050,26 USD), la Tasa Interna de Retorno (36 %), Relación Beneficio-Costo (1,13) y el Punto de Equilibrio (1.409.919 litros), datos que establecen la factibilidad de implementar este centro de acopio en la parroquia San Gerardo.
