Eficacia de la prostaglandina E1 en el tratamiento de la disfunción erectil, en el H.V.C.M. Cuenca, diciembre1997-mayo1998

Abstract

Prostaglandin E1 is a natural, vasoactive substance that inhibits the activity alpha-1 adrenergic and has relaxing effect on this present smooth muscle in various animal tissues and is used in the diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction, the latter reason in our study . Intracavernosal injection is minimally invasive and as demonstrated effective in the treatment, especially in patients with hormonal etiology, including within these to diabetics and chronic alcoholics. It considers that the doses used [0.5ug-lug] in our study are the minimum recorded in the literature to obtain the above positive results. Among the most important complications described are: pain, edema, fifrosis, urethral injury, infection, and priapism, the latter considered the most serious and frequent not registered in our study, however pain and edema occurred in a small percentage . The investigated patients were treated for their underlying disease, these drugs did not influence ninguma way of response and action of substances under study [prostaglandin E1]. Therefore we conclude that is an effective substance and with minimal side effects in the treatment of erectile dysfunction
