Prevalencia de complicaciones postoperatorias de cirugía con MALLAS TOT en mujeres con incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo y factores de riesgo. Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, Cuenca, 2009-2014

Abstract

Objective: To determine the prevalence of postoperative complications of surgery with TOT Sling in women with urinary incontinence.

Material and methods. Information from the medical records of 283 women treated at the Urology Department of José Carrasco Hospital from 2009 to 2014. It describes the population collected by demographic variables: age, weight, height and BMI; obstetric history: pregnancies, births and cesarean sections and post stay. Prevalence and type of complications was calculated: dyspareunia, inguinal pain, fibrosis and externalizing mesh and sought association with BMI, obstetric history and accommodation.

Results. The median age was 52 years (SD 9.23), weight 66 kg (SD 8.51), height 1.54 m (DE 0.06) and BMI of 27.93 (DE 3.84). The prevalence of complications was 27.2% of these: inguinal pain (19.9%), fibrosis (12.4%) were the most frecuent. The higher prevalence of complications was associated with obstetrical history of ≥ 4 pregnancies (OR 1.81 IC 95% CI 1.07 to 3.07) P = 0.027 and ≥ 4 births (OR 2.23 IC 95% CI 1.29 to 3.849) P = 0.004.

Conclusion. There was a high prevalence of complications of the study, with similar results with other studies around the world. The risk factors for the presence of complications were age over 40, overweight or obesity, over 4 pregnancies and births.
