Abstract
This research addresses the study and analysis of the Cuenca contemporary
theatrical aesthetic as a main subject that emerges from three main roots:
historical, artistic discourse and aesthetic conditioning factors, that has opened
a broad panorama of aesthetic forms that determined the social praxis of
Cuenca ́s scene, that has developed from the second half of the XX century. In
this sense, emerges the idea to show the history of scenic art as the “Tres olas
del teatro cuencano”, which work as a catalyst of several aesthetics forms of the
local scene, they have their own artistic manifestations that response to their
context and their expression through diverse characteristics, conditioning
factors and discourse of the theatrical authors.
Resumen
Esta investigación aborda como tema central el estudio y análisis de la estética
del teatro cuencano contemporáneo, que emerge de tres raíces principales: la
historia, los discursos artísticos y los condicionantes estéticos, que han
determinado un amplio panorama de formas estéticas que determinan (o
determinaron) la praxis escénica local, desarrolladas desde la segunda mitad
del siglo XX. En este sentido, surge la idea de presentar a la historia del arte
escénico como las “tres olas del teatro cuencano”, las cuales funcionan como
catalizadores de las distintas estéticas de la escena cuencana, tienen sus
propias manifestaciones artistas que responden a su contexto, y se expresan a
través de las diversas características, condicionantes y discursos de los
creadores teatrales.
