Recreación y juegos: conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas en los padres de familia de la parroquia El Valle, Cuenca, agosto1999 - 2000

Abstract

In this study the knowledge, attitudes and practices of recreation and games in 150 parents of the parish "The Valley" is determined, in the city of Cuenca, during the period August 1999 to May 2000. It was established that 91.3 percent of parents believe that the game is a form of recreation and entertainment, 64 percent is a way to take responsibility and 64.7 percent of knowing reality; also it determined that despite the low educational level of parents have an adequate conception of recreation and games. So the higher percentage [28 percent] of time that parents share with their children was four hours. Regarding the attitude of parents 42.7 percent of those working with the child's play, educates 22 percent and 15.1 percent stimulate; while 17.3 percent advantage for other activities. Finally, it was established that parents and siblings are the ones who should teach children to play, because it is the family, the first environment in which they operate infants.
