Seroepidemiologia y análisis espacial para caracterizar los factores de riesgo para leptospirosis canina en las haciendas y domicilios de tres comunidades de Tarqui

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to characterize seroepidemiology, its spatial distribution and risk factors in haciendas and domiciles of three communities of the Tarqui Parish, with a total of 249 dogs randomly sampled and underwent the MAT test for canine leptospirosis. ,the samples were processed at the Zoonoses Laboratory of the National Institute of Public Health Research (INSPI) of the cities of Cuenca and Guayaquil. Dogs with owners who live in haciendas and domiciles. Dogs that have been vaccinated against leptospirosis in the last year were excluded. For the analysis of the results, Pearson's Chi square of nonparametric statistics with significance of 95% was used, the variables that gave significance were place, Type of esidence and dogs that live loose at will. The tests were analyzed with the software SPSS 24. Spatial analysis was used to know the location of the positive cases generating spatial distribution maps of the variables analyzed. For this, GPS receivers were used to take the coordinates of the location of the haciendas and addresses of the dog owners, in the haciendas and domiciles of the three communities of Tarqui. 61.8% of positive cases were found, with L canicola (26%) serovar with the greatest presence, while Tutupali Chico was the ommunity with the greatest presence of the disease (77.6%),followed by Parochial Center (63, 2%) and Gullanzhapa (45.5%).
