Las familias Pauta y Rodríguez: influencia y desarrollo de la música religiosa cuencana en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y primera del XX.

Abstract

This study is to demonstrate the main contributions that certain artists from Cuenca, Luis Pauta, Amadeo Pauta, Asencio Pauta and José María Rodríguez, have given to the development of music in this city. Many of their religious musical compositions and repertoires have given us an opportunity to deepen some of the musicological studies already existing and the influences of these artists had during the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Most of the information of this research has been taken from temples, convents, monasteries and from the city Conservatory with the purpose of gathering material that has never been completely studied and that needs to be exposed and known by our society, all this through the transcription of music sheets of diverse musical genders with an analytical study of four compositions taken from each musician.
