Percepción de las gestantes que acuden al centro de salud Biblián sobre la aplicación del programa de control prenatal, Cañar, 2017

Abstract

BACKGROUND.- The rates of maternal and neonatal mortality in Ecuador create the need to apply strategies to control the indicators and determinants of the risk of maternal and neonatal death such as: poverty, lack of access to services, ignorance of obstetric risk and signs of danger in pregnancy; The purpose of the prenatal control program is to monitor pregnant women to protect the life of the pregnant woman and the fetus.

OBJECTIVE.- To identify the Perceptions of pregnant women who come to the Biblián health center about the application of the prenatal control program, 2017.

METHODOLOGY.- The research was mixed, the descriptive, observational study; the universe formed by 100 pregnant women, the random sample of 80 pregnant women. Quantitative survey techniques and qualitative participant observation. The processing of the quantitative techniques was carried out in the SPSS version 22, the qualitative ones used the dialectic hermeneutics. The analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, percentages and frequencies. The instruments were the survey and observation form. Ethical procedures such as informed consent were applied.

RESULTS.-The results show that 33.8% are adolescent mothers with low level of education, 93.8% state that they receive information in a clear and concise manner, in 92.5% there is satisfaction with the quality of the service; the coverage of the program has improved considerably, it is 90% met with the program.

CONCLUSIONS.-The investigation allowed us to know how much the prenatal control program is applied through participant observation
