Arte simbólico y convivencia social: relación de la obra artística y sus públicos en la ciudad de Loja

Abstract

This research conducts Symbolic art and social coexistence: relationship of the work of art and its audience in the city of Loja, an analysis of the components of the art system: artist-artwork-audience, characteristics and tensions that modify the scene of the plastic arts in its many languages. Based on the methodology used in this research, a review and bibliographic analysis of the context of culture, art, sociology and semiotics from a specific view was conducted, as well as speeches from art philosophers and information from interviews with artists, teachers, arts managers, the public and arts students; art critics’ points of view, and innovative approaches to the reality in the local plastic arts scene, ways in which to perceive, represent and express reality through art-making that allows the representation of arguments about the change in the thought of the human being and the post-modern art system, in order to bring about serious thought by the actors and audiences. The process of art production in the “Artemisa” art exhibition in Loja is recorded. And finally, conclusions and recommendations are presented to create opportunities for public discussion, rethink the mission of academia, institutions and the relation artist-audience in the different art exhibition events in order to strengthen art culture in Loja.
