Prevalencia del bullying y factores asociados en estudiantes del ciclo básico de la Unidad Educativa Guapán 2014

Abstract

Background. The bullying or bullying abuse of power in the school context is increasingly alarming time in which cultural, social and individual influences come together, bringing short- and long- term health of students.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of bullying and associated factors in students the basic cycle of the Education Unit Guapán 2014.

Methodology: This is a prevalence study involving 144 students enrolled in the basic cycle of the educational unit Guapán, the instrument used was a validated questionnaire, data were processed in the SPSS system to determine the association between the age, sex, family dynamics and body image with bullying, the Chi -square and the P value was used.

Results: The prevalence of bullying in educational unit will Guapán is 53.5% rarely occurs, and 16% often, the most common form of bullying is physical damage by 29.2%, the place where occurs is the classroom by 34.7%; the reason they do is because they are stronger.

There is a statistically significant association with family dynamics, within which migration of the parent, the people who live, arguments and fights that occur at home, feeling ill at home and body image with a value P < 0.05; with the variables age and sex are not found association.
