Abstract
The lack of detailed official technical information, the shortage in the workforce, the ignorance of the potential of the use of traditional materials to offer a quality architecture in our environment have put at risk of disappearing these ancestral knowledge that would allow us to guarantee the Conservation of Ground structures In the Historic Center of the City of Cuenca, adobe is one of the most used construction systems in buildings considered of heritage value, therefore knowing the forms of traditional production, interregional variants, functions and properties of its components, we they will allow to understand their behavior, potentialities and weaknesses from the technical, economic, social and environmental point of view. In the same way it is important to identify the innovative and improvement constructive experiences to analyze and compare the characteristics between traditional and improved systems. In this way, it will also be analyzed to what extent these innovations enhance or not the advantages of the ancestral construction system, and to what extent they solve their disadvantages.
Resumen
La falta de información técnica oficial detallada, la escases en la mano de obra, el desconocimiento de potencialidades del uso de materiales tradicionales para ofrecer una arquitectura de calidad en nuestro medio han puesto en riesgo de desaparecer estos saberes ancestrales que nos permitirían garantizar la Conservación de estructuras en tierra. En el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de Cuenca, el adobe es uno de los sistemas constructivos más usados en edificaciones consideradas de valor patrimonial, por lo tanto conocer las formas de producción tradicional, las variantes interregionales, las funciones y propiedades de sus componentes, nos permitirán entender su comportamiento, potencialidades y debilidades desde el punto de vista técnico, económico, social y ambiental. De la misma manera es importante identificar las experiencias constructivas innovadoras y de mejoramiento para analizar y comparar las características entre los sistemas tradicionales y los mejorados. De este modo, también se analizara en qué medida dichas innovaciones potencian o no las ventajas del sistema constructivo ancestral, y en qué medida solventan sus desventajas.
