dc.descriptionDeterminar la prevalencia de meningiomas diagnosticados por resonancia magnética de cráneo en pacientes del hospital José Carrasco Arteaga en el periodo enero 2016- enero 2018. Metodología: Se realizará un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo. El universo estará conformado por las historias clínicas de pacientes que acudieron al servicio de Imagenología del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, para realizarse un estudio de resonancia magnética de cráneo contrastada, durante el periodo de enero 2016- enero 2018. Esta información será tabulada y analizada en base a las variables: edad, sexo, localización y las características radiológicas observadas en resonancia magnética sugestivas de meningiomas. Resultados Después del análisis de los datos, se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados: 24 pacientes (1%) recibieron un diagnostico Imagenológico de meningioma, seguido de una confirmación de anatomía patológica. El 75% pertenecían al sexo femenino y 25% al sexo masculino. El 50% de los casos se ubica entre los 40 a los 59 años. El 37,5% se encuentra entre los 60 a los 70 años. El patrón de captación homogéneo corresponde al 75% de los casos. La presencia de cola dural se dio en el 95,83% de los casos estudiados. La remodelación ósea fue encontrada en el 79,16% de los pacientesen_US
dc.description.abstractDetermine the prevalence of meningiomas diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging of skull in patients of José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital between January 2016 and January 2018. Methodology: A retrospective descriptive study will be carried out. The universe will be made up of the medical records of patients who came to the Imaging service of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital and had a MRI study with contrast, during the period January 2016- January 2018. This information will be tabulated and analyzed based on the variables: age, sex, location and radiological characteristics observed in MRI suggestive meningiomas. Results: After analysis of the data, the following results were obtained: 24 patients (1%) received an Imaging diagnosis of meningioma, followed by a confirmation of pathological anatomy. 75% were female and 25% were male. 50% of cases were between the ages of 40 and 59. 37.5% are in their 60s to 70s. The homogeneous uptake pattern corresponds to 75% of cases. The presence of dural tail occurred in 95.83% of the studied cases. Bone remodeling was found in 79.16% of patients.en_US
