Proceso de atención de enfermería en pacientes con cirrosis hepática atendidos en el servicio de clínica del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, Azogues. 2015 - 2020

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Liver Cirrhosis as a long process characterized by fibrosis and the conversion of the normal structure into an abnormal nodular arrangement, which appears as the final stage of various liver diseases of different origin. Regarding its epidemiology in Ecuador, it ranks seventh in causes of mortality, according to data from INEC 2016, by 2020 liver cirrhosis became the tenth cause of mortality. The objective of this research is to analyze the Nursing Care Process (PAE) in patients with Liver Cirrhosis treated at the Clinical Service of the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in the period 2015-2020. For this, a descriptive observational quantitative study was carried out by reviewing medical records, using as an instrument the data form that contains sociodemographic variables and items that assess the application of the PAE. For the analysis, the criterion was used, adequate application when the sum of the items of each stage presents a percentage ≥ 70% and inadequate ≤ 69% using the SPSS version 22 program and the Excel application. The study did not present any risk for the participants and the data obtained were confidential. As a conclusion of our evaluation, it was determined that in the institution the application of PAE was carried out through the development of the 5 stages: i) Assessment ii) Diagnosis iii) Planning iv) Execution; and, v) Evaluation is null, a situation that is mainly due to the fact that the hospital system does not maintain periodic training aligned to this process.
