Abstract

Background At the moment, there is no official account of the educational and occupational reality of the University of Cuenca´s Early Stimulation graduates. This study reports this data. General Objective: To obtain relevant information about the educational and occupational reality of the 2010 – 2014 Early Stimulation graduates of the University of Cuenca. Methodology: For this research, a descriptive study was conducted using a sample population made up of 91 graduates of the major during the 2010 – 2014 period. The necessary data was gathered through a self-administered survey first, and then tabulated on Excel 2010 and SPSS 22 to finally subject it to a descriptive analysis of frequencies and percentages. Results: The research revealed these results: 94.5% of professionals in this area are females, while 5.5% are males; regarding location, 84.6% of them reside in Cuenca, but only 73.6% are originally from this city. Also, 68.1% affirm they chose their major by vocation, while 13.2% claim they did it looking for better work opprtunities. Other important findings were that only 6.6% of participants have acquired a post-graduate degree, 46.2% took less than a month to find their first job, 83.5% are working in areas related to their major, and 47.3% operate in the private sector.
