Abstract

The current architectural design bases its project configuration on functional aspects of the type of architecture to be built, and in formal aspects of a design idealized by the design architect. The differentiating concept of this type of architectural projection is the emotional design which sets the tone for design centered on the user and their subjective and collective conception, that will guarantee a structuring of the proposal that integrates the architectural design with the sensations experienced by the user before certain elements or convergent situations in the living space. The emergence of these sensory and emotional responses are intertwined with their sociocultural context, from where precisely that value of identity between people, societies and even designs is created. These identity cultural implications play a key role in spatial and formal conception, since they generate symbolic representations that modify their perception, which is in turn, is the pre-assumption of these representations. In this paper will take the perceptions of university students, derived from their subjective visión as students and inhabitants of a place as imaginary related to architectural projection where there is that emotional and perceptual interaction in terms of visuals and habitability. As the base axis and guide of all the work, multisensory modality concepts will be applied leaving "oculocentrism" on the one hand, focusing on the different stimuli that could trigger brain and emotional responses, identified by the senses. Therefore, the "Kansei" methodology will be applied, used to measure users semantic responses to certain stimuli or objects, which will ensure a design based on the emotions and perceptions of university students for the realization of a student housing project.
