Reinterpretación gráfica infantil de las diferentes advocaciones de la Virgen María aplicadas a varios productos

Abstract

This research project aims to demonstrate the linkage of graphic design, illustration specifically with issues of culture and traditions of the religious context, thus leading to the realization of children’s charts of the most revered advocations of the Virgin Maria in Ecuador. In the first chapter investigates the Virgin Maria in Ecuador with emphasis on the history and tradition of the most representative of the country advoactions. The second chapter deals with the graphic design and illustration, focusing on the latter in: genres, techniques, typography, color, children’s illustration, style, applications, trends, etc. The third chapter focuses on the study of children’s illustration artistic references; in our research project counterparts and the iconographic analysis of selected Marian advocastios, essential point for the realization of the graphic. In the fourth chapter, with the information gathered we proceeded to make the graphic reinterpretation of the actual image of the Virgin Maria to a childhood picture of a great visual appeal, in which highlight the main features of his iconography, color and in particular style proposed.

Finally illustrations gained were applied on posters and in different graphic supports that were selected in a previous survey, they are: holster, backpack, stickers, pencils and notebooks.
