Determinación del somatotipo de atletas de fondo y medio fondo en el torneo sudamericano juvenil. Cuenca 2015

Abstract

This study aims to determine the somatotype of South American athletes in the tournament held in the city of Cuenca in the month of May 2015, this study different endurance athletes and middle distance was conducted in male and female division, with the authorization of the representatives of the various delegations that facilitated the study. The purpose was to compare and determine the somatotype of young athletes with world elites. It was performed using the Heath and Carter method which allowed to obtain information such as: Size (cm.), Weight (kg.), Sitting height (cm.), Upper limb length (cm.) Folds: Axillary, Pectoral, triceps, subscapular, Bicipital, Abdominal, suprailiac, supraspinatus, Thigh, Internal Gemelo. (mm.) Diameters: Biliaco, Bitrocanterico, biacromial, Transversus Thorax Thorax anteroposterior, Doll, humerus, femur, ankle. (cm.) Perimeters: Chest, Waist, Buttock, Thigh, Didymus Supramolar ankle Ankle ankle, wrist, forearm, biceps Relaxed, Biceps Contracted, Cephalic. (cm.) The study involved 51 subjects of the countries of Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Panama, Peru, Argentina and Venezuela, aged between 16 and 19 years, for a total of 51 athletes, 23 ladies and 28 men. The results were statistically analyzed in Exel and using software based on the methodology established by Heath and Carter (1974) by determining the average to process such data for analysis using statistical tables.
