Abstract
The present investigation on the roles and gender stereotypes as a barrier to the exercise of
positive masculinities in adolescents of the Educational Unit "Luis Roberto Bravo" during the
period 2022-2023, is carried out, due to the need to identify the role that they have played.
played the roles, behaviors, attitudes and actions that have been raised as stereotypes by
society, to men. The general objective of this research was to identify the limitations of positive
masculinities that have been created based on gender stereotypes in male adolescents from
the "Luis Roberto Bravo" Educational Unit in the year 2022-2023. In order to achieve the main
objective, specific objectives were set: to expose the position of adolescent men against the
hegemonic masculinity built on the basis of gender stereotypes, to determine the existence of
gender roles linked to biological sex in adolescent men and to analyze the level of acceptance
of a non-traditional masculinity benefited by traditional stereotypes. In this work, a
methodology with a quantitative approach with exploratory and descriptive depth was
incorporated, the instrument that was used was a questionnaire with Likert scales. The results
obtained made visible the existence of gender stereotypes in adolescents of the educational
unit "Luis Roberto Bravo" and how these affect their behaviors, perceptions and attitudes.
Resumen
La presente investigación sobre los roles y estereotipos de género como barrera para el
ejercicio de las masculinidades positivas en adolescentes de la Unidad Educativa “Luis
Roberto Bravo” durante el periodo 2022- 2023, se realiza, debido la necesidad de identificar
el papel que han jugado los roles, comportamientos, actitudes y acciones que se han
planteado como estereotipos por parte de la sociedad, a los varones. El objetivo general de
esta investigación fue identificar las limitaciones de las masculinidades positivas que se han
creado en base a estereotipos de género en adolescentes hombres de la Unidad Educativa
“Luis Roberto Bravo” en el año 2022-2023. Con la finalidad de lograr cumplir el objetivo
principal se plantearon objetivos específicos: exponer la postura de adolescentes hombres
frente a la masculinidad hegemónica construida en base a estereotipos de género, determinar
la existencia de roles de género vinculados al sexo biológico en los hombres adolescentes y
analizar el nivel de aceptación de una masculinidad no tradicional beneficiada por
estereotipos tradicionales. En este trabajo se incorporó una metodología con enfoque
cuantitativo con profundidad exploratoria y descriptiva, el instrumento que se manejó fue un
cuestionario con escalas de Likert. Los resultados obtenidos visibilizaron la existencia de
estereotipos de género en adolescentes de la unidad educativa “Luis Roberto Bravo” y cómo
estos repercuten en sus comportamientos, percepciones y actitudes.
