Experiencias en el parto intercultural de mujeres atendidas en centro de salud Biblián, Biblián 2017

Abstract

Background: Around the birth there are different knowledge, customs, rituals and other cultural practices in the different human groups in the world. Ecuador is a pluricultural, multi-ethnic country and has developed different conceptions around childbirth. Within the policy of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Objective: Describe the experiences in the intercultural delivery of women attended in the Biblián Health Center, Biblián 2017. Methodology: A qualitative-narrative research was carried out, with an ethnographic modality. The sample consisted of 10 women recruited and treated at the Biblián Health Center, who decided on intercultural birth, which was lived from January to March 2017, of different ages, socioeconomic status and profession, residents in the canton Biblián and who gave their consent to participate. Ethnographic methods were used, strategies and semi-structured interview techniques were used. To collect and record the data we use recordings, videos and a form of data records based on the operationalization of categories, with the use of the Atlas Ti program. The categories observed are qualitative, the descriptive-narrative analysis, from sorting and selecting the data, searching and classifying the types, putting it in sequence and processing them found patterns in the set. Results: They contribute to deepening knowledge about the perception that some women have of intercultural birth, as well as attention, techniques and plants.
