Abstract
The need to rescue cultural heritage of The Town of Girón Band of Azuay
province belonging to Ecuador and to assess their long musical career, is the
main objective of this research work.
The music played by the Band has always been present at ceremonies,
rituals, religious and civic festivals or other events of public and private, to
strengthen the sense of belonging. Also encouraged, preserves, disseminates,
preserves and protects this icon of popular cultural identity as Tangible and
Intangible Heritage value and historical evidence collective traditions of each
people.
Resumen
La necesidad del rescate del acervo cultural de La Banda de Pueblo de Girón de la provincia del Azuay perteneciente al Ecuador y de valorar su larga trayectoria musical, constituyen el objetivo principal de este trabajo investigativo.
La música interpretada por La Banda siempre ha estado presente en ceremonias, ritos, fiestas religiosas y cívicas u otros eventos de carácter público y privado, fortaleciendo el sentido de pertenencia. Además se fomenta, conserva, difunde, preserva y protege a este ícono de identidad cultural popular, como un valor Patrimonial Tangible e Intangible que evidencia las tradiciones colectivas e históricas de cada pueblo.
