Percepción sexual de las gestantes durante el segundo trimestre del embarazo, Centro de Salud N°1. Cuenca, 2019

Abstract

Background: the pregnancy a process during which a particularity of modifications occurs in women. Sexual behavior is generally compromised, due to beliefs and myths that they have acquired from external sources, which causes a disagreement in life as a couple and creates a hostile environment within the coexistence of women. On the other hand, the social and religious construct intervenes at the time of sexual practices, causing a decline in sexual desire and a cessation of practices. Objective: To identify the perception of pregnant women regarding sexual relations in the second trimester of pregnancy, at the N ° 1 health center in the city of Cuenca, 2019. Methodology: a descriptive study was carried out with a qualitative approach, of a phenomenological type, the data collection technique was a semi-structured interview, and the sample was made up of 10 pregnant women who attend health center No. 1 using the principle of theoretical saturation. A non-probability model for convenience was used in women who voluntarily agreed to participate and sign the informed consent. Subsequently, the information coding process was carried out; through programs like Atlas.ti and Microsoft Word. Results: it was evidenced that the knowledge of pregnant women as with regard to sexual relations including sexuality, is surrounded by prejudice, taboos and inadequate information, however, the practices that pregnant women carry out in their life as a couple are modified as the pregnancy progresses, for different reasons such as fear, physical modifications, etc. As a consequence, there is a notable change in sexual satisfaction, are watched to have decreased compared to the first trimester.
