Valoración de bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad en los niños y niñas de la escuela fiscal mixta Héctor Sempértegui García de la parroquía Hermano Miguel, Cuenca 2010

Abstract

The present investigation has as objective to determine the low weight, on weight and obesity of the childrens of the fiscal school Héctor Sempertegui Garci'a of the Parish Brother Miguel corner Cuenca sector the Company this study were realized by means of the control of the weight, charts, take part material and methods for valuation of the nutritional state by means of the calculation of the index of corporal mass. It is a cross-sectional design, the universe was of 167 children, the obtaining of the sample is of 60 children applying formulates statistic.

For harvesting of the information it was used the following instruments: form of survey on the socioeconomic condition that was applied to the parents of family of the subject children of the investigation, form for the registry of the anthropometry of the children, I am used in addition the tables to Index of Corporal Mass (IMC) and the curves of growth of the NCHS.

Results: with the relation of weight age 55% have low weight, the 23,33% has normal weight, the 16,67% overweight and 5% infantile obesity. In comparison with a descriptive study in eight educative establishments (4 individuals and 4 public prosecutors); in which it is observed the following results, “3% have obesity problems, 18% overweight and 5,6% present/display bad nutrition”.

On the basis of the obtained results a proposal was elaborated in order to orient and to concientizar on the foods that children’s must consume the same that will contribute to maintain an ideal weight in the boy or girl.
