Prevalencia, etiología y factores de riesgo de lumbalgia en los pacientes que acuden a la consulta de traumatología del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga en Cuenca, año 2017

Abstract

Background: Low back pain is a pain located from the lower edge of the last ribs to the lower crease of the gluteal area, it is the second cause of medical attention and the third cause of surgery and long-term functional disability. Objective: to determine the prevalence, etiology and risk factors of low back pain in the patients who come to the traumatology clinic of the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga in Cuenca during the year 2017. Methodological design: it is a quantitative analytical, cross-sectional and prevalence study. The sample will be constituted by patients from the traumatology clinic of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital. A form containing the study variables was prepared. The statistical analysis was performed with the SPSS 24 program; the measures to be used to present the results will be frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean and standard deviation: to test hypotheses the Chi square was used, considering a p <0.05 as significant; and to measure the type association the Reason of Prevalence. Results: the prevalence of Low back pain; the distribution by demographic and clinical characteristics; the associated factors. Conclusions: the prevalence of low back pain was high, its main cause was and was associated with
