La sociedad agraria en el cantón Saraguro, siglo XXI

Abstract

This study makes a thorough analysis approach and the agricultural sector in the Canton of Saraguro, in the province of Loja. For this part from the continental vision of the different agricultural activities in Latin America throughout history, and then focus on Ecuador, from pre-Inca times to the present. Upon entering the country analysis, the study is divided into periods, the first goes from the Hispanic period to the Republican era of the late twentieth century , the reason is because these stages are key to understanding the development of different economic sectors , especially agriculture, the same that has been neglected during the last decades of this century. The second period starts from the beginning of the XXI century to the present, the reason is: at the beginning of the century the indigenous and peasant groups had great influence on all social aspects, including political, in 2008 the constitution was amended, the same that is focused within the framework of Buen Vivir, guaranteeing the right of native peoples, culture and environment, important aspects for indigenous groups, leading representatives of the agricultural sector. Finally, it will analyze the different activities in the Saraguro canton and its evolution and involvement to technology and science in agriculture.
