Georeferenciación, análisis y función del patrimonio toponimico del cantón Cuenca: parroquia rural de Ricaurte

Abstract

The following monograph entitled:Georeferentiation,Analysis and Function of the Toponymic Heritage of the Canton of Cuenca: Rural Parish Ricaurte, to which is intended to contribute the investigation of the toponymic heritage, The main contributors are the humans and the environment, which throughout time have built up through their history and identity, being expressed by means of their language, memory, ideology and traditions, now being embodied by the toponymies and names which have been attributed to each location. This investigation was performed through the analysis of documents from various files and other bibliographic sources, further work observation and region names in its current state was conducted in the field to gather the collective memories of the people by means of oral surveys. For the systematic study and the creation of the GIS database, geographic and plane coordinates assigned, subsequently was classified depending on type of form toponymies. To perform georeferentiation and visual representation of toponymies, the system ARGIS 10.3 was used. The digital database comprises: classification, type, present name, previous name. It has analyzed that the origin of the names in Canari, Quechua or Spanish, its meaning and etymology as collective reason, therefor on the logical relationship of toponymy is established with the environment that being the particular environment where it has been preserved years history and tradition therefor it should be preserved as patrimony for future cultures.
