Minería en el Ecuador: sostenibilidad y licitud

Abstract

The article approaches the debate about sustainability and mining, in the context of an exacerbated polemic for and against it, considering the constitutional provisions in the Republic of Ecuador. It also presents a vision of the types of mining that are carried out in this country, classified by the criterion of their scale. Likewise, it addresses the issue of the legality of the mining exploitation by examining five possible positions in relation to the exploitation or not of the mining resources of Ecuador and the destination of the economic benefit they produce. Finally, it deals with the relationship between human well-being and nature care.
