Abstract

In the following work will be studied houses with a courtyard in the Historic Center of Cuenca, in order to know the formal and spatial values present in heritage houses of this type, the houses with courtyard cataloged according to the VHIAR with historical architectural value will be reviewed for Based on this document, select the most known or most representative homes for further study. The main objective will be to identify what are the benefits and the problems that can be solved with this type of housing The conclusions obtained in this document will serve to know what are the formal values and order present in the traditional architecture of Cuenca, seek that people recognize the quality behind these buildings of the past, generating interest in conserving and protecting our heritage and that also serve to know the main aspects that should be taken into account in the case of building new buildings of this type either in the Historic Center or any part of the city, will generate project material to be used in future interventions of this type in the city.
