Mobbing y ansiedad en los operadores de maquinaria industrial en the Tesalia Company S.A., Guayaquil, 2023

Abstract

From a psychological perspective, mobbing or workplace harassment is a form of psychological violence, which negatively impacts the mental health of workers, giving rise to symptoms such as anxiety and stress. A correlational study was carried out with the objective of determining the relationship between mobbing and anxiety levels in industrial machinery operators at The Tesalia Springs Company S.A., Guayaquil, during 2023. To collect data, a sociodemographic sheet, the Scale, was applied. Cisneros to measure mobbing and the Beck Anxiety Inventory to evaluate anxiety in a total of 123 workers. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, to describe the population and determine the existence of a relationship between mobbing and anxiety. Among the main results, it was found that there is a high rate of mobbing led by bosses or supervisors, followed by colleagues and then by subordinates. On the other hand, low levels of anxiety predominated, although a minority group with severe levels was identified. It is concluded that there is a positively significant relationship between mobbing and anxiety among workers belonging to the operators and manufacturing departments.
