Abstract
The film project entitled Making, exhibition and theoretical reflection of the short film Cámara
Oscura consists of three units: the short documentary, the production portfolio and the three
individual essays of each technical-creative area: "Distribution and exhibition: festivals and
streaming platforms for the documentary short film Cámara Oscura", "Documentary and
archival photography in the Cámara Oscura" and "Decoration of locations to symbolize the
character in the documentary Cámara Oscura". The research method that articulates the
realization of the short film is based on artistic practice (Hernández Hernández, 2006). The
specific contribution is the reflection, research and production of an audiovisual project based
on archival photographs, which shows the life and work of the photographer José Pelaez and
the relationship with the director of the film, José Carpio, his grandson.
Resumen
El proyecto cinematográfico titulado Realización, exhibición y reflexión teórica del
cortometraje Cámara Oscura consta de tres elementos: el cortometraje final, la carpeta de
producción y los tres ensayos individuales de cada área técnica-creativa: “Distribución y
exhibición: festivales y plataformas de streaming para el cortometraje documental Cámara
Oscura”, “Documental y fotografía de archivo en el cortometraje Cámara Oscura” y
“Decoración de locaciones para simbolizar al personaje en el documental Cámara Oscura”.
El método de investigación que articula la realización del cortometraje es la de
investigación/creación o basada en la práctica artística (Hernández Hernández, 2006). El
aporte en concreto es la reflexión, investigación y creación de un proyecto audiovisual a partir
de fotografías de archivo, en el cual se muestra una parte de la vida y obra del fotógrafo
cuencano José Peláez y la relación con el director del film, José Carpio, su nieto.
