Abstract
Although the subject of conservation and intervention on preexisting objects or buildings with historical or patrimonial characteristics had a great peak since the 19th century, it is during the 20th century that they took greater relevance, since many of the events that occurred at this time, especially within the European scope, allowed the emergence of several currents, figures, theories, organisms, and regulations, which, based on a number of practices and actions, substantiated the recovery of objects from the past, however, until this day, these issues continue to be debated and analyzed constantly.
On the other hand, the Modern Movement, an architectonic mainstream that would arise in the first decades of the 20th century, can be considered as one of the few groups devoted to analyze and discuss, changes and events that emerged after the industrial revolution, and which had major repercussions on society in general, and especially on architecture and urbanism. From another point of view, the influence that Latin America had on modern architecture an urbanism cannot go unnoticed, since the integration of autochthonous elements from the region promulgated the emergence of a new judgment.
Thus, the present research project seeks to identify bases and concepts about the intervention and conservation of pre-existences, which, through a catalogue and analysis of projects, will allow to find criteria or basic principles, as a link between modern architecture and historic or patrimonial buildings within the Latin American medium.
Resumen
Si bien, los temas de conservación e intervención sobre preexistencias con características históricas o patrimoniales tuvo un gran auge desde el siglo XIX, es durante el siglo XX que toman mayor relevancia, pues muchos sucesos que ocurrieron en esta época, sobre todo dentro del ámbito europeo, permitieron el surgimiento de varias corrientes, personajes, teorías, organismos, y normativas, los cuales, fundamentaron un sinnúmero de prácticas y acciones para el rescate de los objetos del pasado, sin embargo, hasta el día de hoy, estos temas siguen siendo debatidos y analizados constantemente.
Por otra parte, el Movimiento Moderno, corriente arquitectónica que surgiría en las primeras décadas del siglo XX, puede ser considerada una de las pocas agrupaciones que se dedicaron ha analizar y debatir, cambios y hechos que surgieron tras la revolución industrial, y que tuvieron grandes repercusiones sobre la sociedad en general, y principalmente sobre la arquitectura y el urbanismo. Desde otro punto de vista, la influencia del ámbito latinoamericano sobre la arquitectura y el urbanismo moderno no puede pasar desapercibida, ya que la integración de elementos autóctonos de la región promulgó el surgimiento de un nuevo pensamiento.
Es así que, el presente proyecto de investigación, busca identificar bases y conceptos sobre la intervención y conservación de preexistencias, los cuales, a través de un catálogo y análisis de obras, permitan encontrar criterios o principios básicos, como vínculo entre la arquitectura moderna y edificaciones existentes o patrimoniales dentro del medio latinoamericano.
