| dc.description | Objetivo Determinar los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas sobre Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 en pacientes diabéticos que asistieron a consulta en la Fundación Donum entre marzo-julio de 2014. Método y materiales Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, en un universo de 290 pacientes que consultaron en la Fundación Donum entre marzo y julio de 2014. En ellos se aplicó el cuestionario KAP mediante entrevista, y los datos fueron analizados en el software Excel. Resultados La mediana de la edad fue 64 años; la mínima, 33 y la máxima, 98. El 46,21% tenían entre 45-64 años. El 68,62% fueron mujeres. En el área urbana residen el 78,28%. El 54,83% se dedican a los quehaceres domésticos. Entre analfabetos y con nivel primario sumaron el 71,38%. Y el 46,21% tenían < de 10 años de evolución de la enfermedad. El nivel alto de conocimientos fue de 26,21%; el medio, de 68.97% y el bajo, de 4,83 %. El nivel alto de actitudes, de 6,55%; el medio, de 35,17% y bajo, de 58, 28%. El nivel alto de prácticas, de 80%; el medio, de 17.93 % y el bajo, de 2,07 %. Conclusiones El nivel alto de conocimientos fue menor al 30%, el de actitud menor al 10% y el nivel alto de prácticas, del 80%. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Objectives: To determine knowledge, attitudes and practice, about Diabetes mellitus type 2 in diabetic outpatients attending at Fundación Donum, in the lapse of time between march-july of 2014. Methods and Materials: A descriptive study was made in a universe of 290 patients attending at Donum Foundation between March and July 2014 the interview was made using a validated KAP questionnaire, and the data were analyzed in Excel software. Results: The median age was 64; the minimum was 33 and the maximum was 98. The 46.21% patients were between 45-64 years. The 68.62% were women. The 78.28% lived in urban areas. The 54.83% worked in houshold chores. Illiterate and primary level patients were the 71.38%. And 46.21% had <10 years of disease evolution. For knowledge: the 26.21% had high scores; average, the 68.97% and low, the 4.83%.For attitudes: the 6.55%; had high scores; average, the 35.17% and low, the 35.17%.For practice: the 80%; had high scores; average, the 17.93% and low, the 2.07%. Conclusions: A high level of knowledge was less than 30%, high level of attitude was less of 10% and a high level of practice was shown in 80% of patients. | es_ES |
