Abstract

Quantitative, transversal retrospective, descriptive study with the objective of determining the risk factors influencing HIV infection in hospitalized patients in the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during the years 1994-2004 and the specific objectives identify variations of such risk factors . Universe is considered as constant medical records in hospital clinical statistics. The sample covers 79 medical records of patients with definitive diagnosis of HIV infection or AIDS, over 14 years old, living and dead. The data collected in forms, was tabulated in EPI-INFO and EXCEL. The highest incidence of HIV-AIDS occurs in the 26-35 age Ainu, with predominance of men over women, sexual behavior is irrelevant.
