Análisis de los determinantes sociales de los emprendimientos asociativos de la Economía Popular y Solidaria, registrados en el IEPS de la zona 6 del Ecuador

Abstract

The present study focuses on analyzing the social determinants that influence the associative enterprises of the Popular and Solidarity Economy registered in the RUEPS in zone 6 of Ecuador. The research aims to understand the functioning and influence of these determinants on these enterprises, taking into account the context in which they operate. The research adopted a sequential mixed-research approach, involving a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Initially, a descriptive analysis was carried out at the quantitative level to obtain an overview of the data. Subsequently, a qualitative analysis was conducted to delve deeper into the underlying aspects and experiences of the participants. This methodological approach allowed for a comprehensive and enriching understanding of the phenomenon under investigation. Using quantitative secondary information analysis, surveys, interviews, and participatory workshops as data collection instruments, the analysis of the results reveals that social determinants play a dual role, acting as both restrictive and enabling factors simultaneously. On the one hand, external elements were identified that impose limitations and conditions on the functioning of associative enterprises. On the other hand, it was found that these same determinants offer opportunities and allow enterprises to acquire and develop capacities that enable them to continue their activities and adapt to changes in the environment. This complex interaction between social determinants shapes the context in which associative enterprises must operate, face challenges and take advantage of the resources and opportunities available for their sustainable development.
