Abstract
The retail market is a public facility for the supply of goods, products or
services to satisfy the needs of the population of a specific area according
to its hierarchy. In Ecuador, these facilities are a fundamental part of
people's lives, in addition to being cultural centers. and identity. Currently in
the city of Azogues there are 3 markets, the San Francisco market, the
Polibio Romero market and the new wholesale market. Considering that
about 23% of the population of Azogues is dedicated to the primary sector,
especially in small-scale agriculture and livestock, added to the fact that in
the following years the majority of the canton's population will live in the city,
the absence of adequate infrastructure for the exchange of products
becomes more evident. Therefore, the objective of this Curricular Integration
Work is to design an efficient and functional retail market, providing an
accessible commercial space that stimulates economic activity and
improves the quality of life in the canton. To achieve this goal, robust
information collection methods will be used, including the evaluation of
references with similar characteristics and a detailed analysis of the site. All
of this will culminate in the proposal of the architectural preliminary project,
accompanied by the pertinent conclusions derived from this work.
Resumen
El mercado minorista es un equipamiento público de suministro de bienes,
productos o servicios para satisfacer las necesidades de la población de un
área específica según su jerarquía, en el Ecuador estos equipamientos son
parte fundamental en la vida de las personas, además de ser centros
culturales e identitarios. Actualmente en la ciudad de Azogues existen 3
mercados, el mercado San Francisco, el mercado Polibio Romero y el
nuevo mercado Mayorista. Considerando que, cerca del 23% de la
población de Azogues se dedica al sector primario, especialmente en
agricultura y ganadería a pequeña escala, sumado al hecho de que en los
siguientes años la mayor parte de la población del cantón vivirá en la
ciudad, la ausencia de infraestructuras adecuadas para el intercambio de
productos se hace más evidente. Por ende, el objetivo de este Trabajo de
Integración Curricular es diseñar un mercado minorista eficiente y funcional,
proporcionando un espacio comercial accesible que estimule la actividad
económica y mejore la calidad de vida en el cantón. Para alcanzar este
objetivo, se emplearán métodos sólidos de recopilación de información,
incluyendo la evaluación de referentes con características similares y un
análisis detallado del sitio. Todo ello culminará en la propuesta del
anteproyecto arquitectónico, acompañado de las conclusiones pertinentes
derivadas de este trabajo.
