Factores que influyen al consumo de drogas en los estudiantes del Instituto Pedagógico Interecultural Bilingue Quilloac. Cañar, 2014

Abstract

Objective: This investigation aims to identify the factors involved in drugs intake in the students of the “Instituto Pedagógico Intercultural Bilingüe “Quilloac”- Cañar. Methodology.- A descriptive cross-section research was made. We worked with a finite universo that integrates 268 students; the sampling frame was selected according to the convenience and agreement with the criteria of the investigators, and involved all the students that were enrolled in first, second, and third year bachillerato.

As a technique we used: a survey on the intake of drugs. As an instrument, a form done by the CONSEP and adapted by the authors. The information was processed on the statistical programs Excel and SPSS. The results are presented in charts including frequency and percentages.

Results.- Of the 81 students surveyed, 7.40% from first bachillerato, 2.46% from second bachillerato, and 8.67% from third bachillerato drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and marihuana when they think it is necessary; the places with more disponibility for the intake are the parties, the piazzas, and the parks.. The 32.0% for first bachillerato, 14%.8 from second bachillerato, and 22.2% from third bachillerato say that their parents have consumed tobacco, alcohol, and tranquilizers. Conclusion.- The factors influencing in the use of drugs in the students are the easy access to drugs in public places (parties, high schools, piazzas, and others), family problems, parents and friends that are consumers.
