Aproximación a la caricatura editorial en el período del presidente Rafael Correa Delgado

Abstract

Going over the editorial caricature in the governing period of the presidency of Rafael Correa (15 of January of 2007 until the date of) it is not only about connecting the attention of the Ecuadorean press with the objective of finding the president and other politicians of this country characterized humorously in a series of drawings by the graphic artists that we have built imaginary and developed our task during this period. Going further than actions and reactions generated by the caricatures, our focus is artistic, analytic, interpretive, and even participative. We explore the graphic narrative of the Ecuadorean editorial caricature considering two key pillars: humor and tolerance, observing these through the lense of opinionated journalism.

We know that the caricature of political nature during the presidential period of Rafael Correa, in spite of his impact and controversy (and maybe also his validity) it has not yet studied conveniently. This work of approximation looks to build a port of professional interdisciplinary (art and journalism), by way of significance to the happenings in the world of drawing caricatures for the press during our fraction of history, fomenting at the same time comprehension of humor and tolerance, with the major objective possible. The process of this investigation is an exposition of art denominated CuencaricaturaS. It was released in the Major Gallery.
