dc.descriptionOBJETIVO Determinar la relación entre el estilo de vida y el estado nutricional en los adultos mayores que asisten al “Hogar de los Abuelos” Cuenca, año 2017. MÉTODOS Y TÉCNICAS Se realizó un estudio correlacional de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, y de corte transversal, en el periodo Noviembre 2017 – Mayo 2018, en la Institución Municipal “Hogar de los Abuelos”, con un universo conformado por 61 adultos mayores a quienes se les evaluó el estado nutricional con la toma de medidas antropométricas, y se determinó el perfil de estilo de vida, por medio de una encuesta de medición del estilo de vida, “Escala de estilo de vida del adulto mayor”, The Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile HPLP II, de Walker Volkan, Sechrist y Pender, modificada por Díaz R, Márquez E, Delgado R., para finalmente establecer la asociación entre estas variables. Una vez recolectados los datos, estos fueron tabulados y registrados en el programa estadístico SPSS versión 15.0, y la presentación de los resultados se realizó en tablas y gráficos del programa Microsoft Excel 2016. RESULTADOS La población estuvo conformada por el 73,8% de personas del sexo femenino y el 26,2% del sexo masculino. El 62,3% de adultos mayores presentaron un estado nutricional inadecuado, y el 37,7% se encuentra en normalidad. Se determinó que existe una relación significativa entre el estado nutricional y el estilo de vida de los adultos mayores que participaron en la investigación (r = 0,29). Se obtuvo que el 54,1% de los mismos presenta un estilo de vida no saludable.es_ES
dc.description.abstractOBJECTIVE To determine the corelation between lifestyle and nutritional status of the members of the elderly foster care home “Hogar de los abuelos” Cuenca, (2017). METHODS AND TECHNIQUES A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional - correlational study will be performed from November 2017 until May 2018. The methodology utilized for the assessment of the nutritional status of the elderly individuals will be based of the nutritional status obtained by means of the anthropometric measurements (weight, height, BMI). To determine the lifestyle profile, Health promoting lifestyle profile (HPLP II) - Adult version survey (The Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile HPLP II, de Walker Volkan, Sechrist y Pender, modificada por Díaz R, Márquez E, Delgado R.) will be completed by each participant. The information gathered will the analyzed to determine the influence of elderly individuals’ lifestyle on their nutritional status. The information will be tabulated using the software SPSS V15.0; Microsoft Excel 2016 will also be used to illustrate the results in tables and graphs. RESULTS The population was conformed of 73.8% of females and 26.2% of males. The data showed that 62.3% of elderlies have inadequate nutritional status due to either weight deficit or weight excess and 37.7% of them have an adequate nutritional status. It was determined that there is a significant relationship between the nutritional status and the lifestyle of the elderly who participate in the research (r = 0,29). It was found that 54.1% of them presented an unhealthy lifestylees_ES
