Abstract
La presente recensión profundiza en el libro La imagen corpórea, del teórico finés de la arquitectura contemporánea Juhani Pallasmaa. Esta obra, cargada de referencias eruditas, tiene como eje central la crítica al imperio del sentido de la vista y la apuesta por una sensibilidad emocional y háptica en la construcción de entornos habitables. A pesar de los argumentos críticos de Pallasmaa ante el vigente abuso de la imagen y la estetización superficial del mundo de la arquitectura, él todavía considera que puede existir un tipo de imagen emancipadora y poética, capaz de hacernos imaginar un mundo mejor: la imagen corpórea.
Resumen
This review delves into the book The Embodied Image, by the Finnish theorist of contemporary architecture Juhani Pallasmaa. This work, loaded with erudite references, has as its central axis the critique of the empire of the sense of sight and the bet for an emotional and haptic sensibility in the construction of habitable environments. In spite of Pallasmaa’s critical arguments against the current abuse of the image and the superficial aesthetization of the world of architecture, he still considers that there may exist a type of emancipatory and poetic image, capable of making us imagine a better world: the embodied image.
