Abstract
Modern architecture develops in Latin America between the 50’s and 70’s, under the influence of great european architects such as Le Corbusier, Mies Van der Rohe, Walter Gropius, Frank Lloyd Wright, among others, developing projects based on the same line of research of formal will, combining it with traditional techniques and incorporating it to the local site. The present work focuses on the study of the residential architectural production of the architect René Bravo Espinoza in the city of Guayaquil between 1950-1980, with the purpose of contributing to the value of its residential architectural projects; Starting from the documentation of his work, and from the digital reconstruction of two of the most representative projects, it seeks to identify the formal and functional values of the projects.
Since the reconstruction of the project, it is proposed to identify the design principles of the two case studies, reaching the design intentions embodied in each constructive element; and its analogy with reference projects worldwide, which converge on the same architectural typology.
Resumen
La arquitectura moderna se desarrolla en América Latina entre las décadas 50 – 70, bajo las influencias de grandes arquitectos europeos como Le Corbusier, Mies Van der Rohe, Walter Gropius, Frank Lloyd Wright, entre otros, desarrollando proyectos partiendo de una misma línea de investigación de voluntad formal, conjugándolo con técnicas tradicionales e incorporándolo al emplazamiento local. El presente trabajo se centra en el estudio de la producción arquitectónica residencial del Arquitecto René Bravo Espinoza en la ciudad de Guayaquil entre los años 1950-1980, con la finalidad de contribuir a la puesta en valor de sus proyectos arquitectónicos residenciales; partiendo de la documentación de su obra, y de la reconstrucción digital de dos de los proyectos más representativos, se busca identificar los valores formales y funcionales de los proyectos.
Desde la reconstrucción del proyecto, se propone identificar los criterios de concepción de los dos estudios de casos, llegando a concretar las intenciones de diseño plasmado en cada elemento constructivo; y su analogía con proyectos referentes a nivel global, que confluyan en una misma tipología arquitectónica.
