Abstract
The Laguna Curiquingue tourist project is located in the Nabón parish of the Nabón
canton, province of Azuay. This project is managed by the Chunazana Commune in
an empirical way, which causes difficulty in the development of the enterprise. For
this reason, there is a need to diversify the tourist offer for the lagoon with the aim of
implementing adventure activities such as kayaking and hiking. To achieve this, a
diagnosis of the current situation of tourism in the sector was carried out through the
analysis of semi-structured interviews applied to the actors of the project.
Subsequently, spaces, routes, and pathways were determined for these adventure
modalities; in addition, the estimated budget for the implementation and a proposal
for tourist signage. Finally, operation, marketing, and marketing strategies were
designed for kayaking and hiking activities in conjunction with existing ones. In this
virtue, it contributes to the development of the tourist project of the commune
according to the resources they have and supports the progress of tourism in rural
areas.

Resumen
El proyecto turístico Laguna Curiquingue se ubica en la parroquia Nabón del cantón
Nabón, provincia del Azuay. Este proyecto es manejado por la Comuna Chunazana
de manera empírica, lo que ocasiona dificultad en el desarrollo del emprendimiento.
Por esta razón, surge la necesidad de diversificar la oferta turística para la laguna
con el objetivo de implementar actividades de aventura como kayak y senderismo.
Para lograr esto, se realizó un diagnóstico de la situación actual del turismo en el
sector mediante el análisis de entrevistas semiestructuradas aplicadas a los actores
del proyecto. Posteriormente, se determinaron espacios, rutas y recorridos para
estas modalidades de aventura; además, el presupuesto estimado para la
implementación y una propuesta de señalización turística. Finalmente, se diseñaron
estrategias de operación, comercialización y marketing para las actividades de
kayak y senderismo en conjunto con las existentes. En esta virtud, se contribuye al
desarrollo del proyecto turístico de la comuna de acuerdo a los recursos que poseen
y se apoya al progreso del turismo en áreas rurales.
