Breve análisis cronológico de la introducción de materiales relevantes, dentro de las edificaciones del Centro Histórico de Cuenca entre los años 1880 y 1980

Abstract

Appreciating the value of the architecture of our historical center as an essential part of the history of the city and considering Heritage Conservation as a cultural gesture that strengthens the construction of a society; the knowledge of cultural goods generates a deep understanding of those elements that have a certain meaning in the collective memory of the inhabitants of a town. Over time, there has been a constant transition in the implementation of materials and construction systems in the buildings of the historical center of Cuenca. Changes that responded at the time, to the different social, political and economic situations that somehow altered the constructive customs in the city, and parts of the buildings. However, changes in the application of materials are kept in the memory of people, but despite this, it is difficult to know the history that these, in the heritage buildings. Considering this antecedent, the present research topic proposes to make an approximation of the introduction of the materials in the real estate of the historic center. The period selected for this study is between 1880 and 1980, when a considerable amount of materials were incorporated in the buildings of the city center and brought with it several changes in the local architecture.
