Prevalencia de disfunción sexual femenina y factores asociados durante la transición menopaúsica y posmenopausia. Consulta externa en el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga 2017-2018

Abstract

Introduction: female sexual dysfunction (FSD), can affect women in any age group, however, it has been evidenced in the literature that in the menopausal state and posteriori these figures amount to 60%, an alarming figure since this condition tends to affect multiple areas of the individual, in turn deteriorating their lifestyle and their relationship with the social environment. Objective: to determine the prevalence of DSF and associated factors during the menopausal and postmenopausal transition, external consultation of gynecology in the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga 2017-2018. Materials and methods: a cross-sectional, analytical study, in 256 women in the transition period between menopause and postmenopause, the validated survey Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) was used, consisting of 19 questions, with DSF defined with an index score. of 26.55 or less, in the same way the affectation by domains was calculated, the results were expressed in tables specifying count and percentage, all the data were analyzed by means of the statistical program SPSS in its version 19. Results: the prevalence of DSF was 37.1%, the most affected domain was satisfaction with 48.8%, urban residence was a risk factor for DSF in contrast to the level of instruction under which it was reported as a protective factor, with respect to the domains it was evident that being younger than 50 years was a risk factor for the affectation of the desire domain as well as menopause, similar behavior with respect to the age group and the excitation domain, for this dominance the protective factor was having children and diabetes was a risk factor for the pain domain condition. Conclusions: DSF and its domains were associated to be less than 50 years old, urban residence, higher educational level, diabetes, menopause and children
