Abstract
This monograph is situated in the field of the didactics of Mathematics. The main
objective is aimed at determining the importance of the use of concrete material in the
teaching-learning process of the Mathematics subject at the elementary sublevel from the
bibliography. To achieve this objective, the methodology has been oriented towards a
bibliographic review (books, journals, scientific articles, degree works) regarding the
subject. This bibliographic review focused on identifying from which theoretical
approaches the use of concrete material is studied, in the same way in knowing the types
of concrete materials that are proposed to be used for the teaching-learning of
Mathematics in the elementary sublevel, from the literature and to make known the
importance of the use of concrete material in the learning of Mathematics in the
elementary sublevel. Regarding the results, the bibliographic review showed that the use
of concrete material in the teaching-learning of Mathematics allows the acquisition of
new concepts that are sometimes complex for the student body, either due to their
abstraction or level of complexity, therefore, by making use of concrete material that is
usually related to the context of the student, it provokes curiosity in them, thus
strengthening their thinking, allowing them to become responsible in the construction of
their own knowledge that they could later apply in their daily lives.
Resumen
La presente monografía se sitúa en el ámbito de la didáctica de las Matemáticas.
El objetivo principal está orientado a determinar la importancia del uso del material
concreto en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la asignatura de Matemática en el
subnivel elemental desde la bibliografía. Para el logro de este objetivo la metodología se
ha orientado a una revisión bibliográfica (libros, revistas, artículos científicos, trabajos de
titulación) respecto al tema. Esta revisión bibliográfica se centró en identificar desde qué
enfoques teóricos se estudia el uso de material concreto, de igual manera en conocer los
tipos de materiales concretos que se propone utilizar para la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la
Matemática en el subnivel elemental, desde la literatura y dar a conocer la importancia
del uso de material concreto en el aprendizaje de Matemática en el subnivel elemental.
Respecto a los resultados, la revisión bibliográfica evidenció que el uso de material
concreto en la enseñanza aprendizaje de la Matemática permite la adquisición de nuevos
conceptos que en ocasiones resultan complejos para el estudiantado ya sea por su
abstracción o nivel de complejidad, por lo tanto, al hacer uso de material concreto que
generalmente suele estar relacionado con el contexto del estudiante, provoca en ellos
curiosidad, de esta forma fortalece su pensamiento, permite que se vuelvan responsables
en la construcción de sus propios conocimientos que más adelante podrían aplicar en su
vida cotidiana.
