Abstract

In order to validate the research: Journalism as the Main Power of Social Change. Specific Case Study: Watergate y Wikileaks, the use of communicative theories, especially historical events, were employed in addition to the explanation of their development, focusing on the specific moments in which journalism has significantly developed its functions. Citing theories from (Oliveira, 2009), (Martini, 2004), (Gomis, 2008), (Canel&Sádaba, 1999), (Castells, 2009) and (Rodríguez, 1994) , the documental recompilation of information about Watergate and Wikileaks was sustained, in relation to the power of journalism and all changes it has provoked in our society. An analysis of the informative techniques of the investigation journalism, ethic dilemmas, professional principles, and repercussions of the politics, social and economic aspects was made with the used references, including their respective publications.
