Efecto de la terapia con fitocannabinoides en la concentración sanguínea de ALT, AST y bilirrubinas totales en perros gerontes

Abstract
This study was realized with the objective of evaluating the effect of the CBD therapy on the concentrations of aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and total bilirubin in domestic dogs (Canis Lupus familiaris). This study includes 19 gerontic dogs (13 females and 6 males) of different breeds and weights. These dogs received CBD in a medium-chain triglyceride oil vehicle orally, in doses of 2,5 mg/kg every 12 hours in 21 days. Serum concentrations of AST, ALT and bilirubin were analyzed three times of the study (Day 0, 10 and 21). Data were analyzed using the Friedman test and the Post Hoc Wilcoxon paired test. The study shows significant differences in the serum concentrations of AST and total bilirubin between days 0 – 21 and 10 – 21. The AST showed a slight elevation on day 10 and it decreased on day 21, finally the total bilirubin of the studied group decreased significantly from 0.83 from 0.27 mg/dl on day 21.
Resumen
Este estudio fue realizado con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la terapia con fitocanabidiol (CBD) sobre las concentraciones de aspartato aminotransferasa (AST), alanina aminotransferasa (ALT) y bilirrubina total, en perros domésticos (Canis lupus familiaris). Este estudio incluyó 19 perros gerontes (13 hembras y 6 machos), de diferentes razas y pesos. Los perros estudiados recibieron CBD en vehículo de aceite de triglicéridos de cadena media vía oral, en dosis de 2,5 mg/kg cada 12 horas durante 21 días. Se analizaron las concentraciones séricas de AST, ALT y Bilirrubina total en tres momentos durante el estudio (días 0, 10 y 21). Los datos se analizaron mediante el estadístico de Friedman y la prueba post hoc de Wilcoxon. Se obtuvieron diferencias significativas en la concentración sérica de AST y Bilirrubina total entre los días 0 - 21 y 10 - 21. La AST presentó una ligera elevación en el día 10 y disminuyó para el día 21, finalmente la Bilirrubina total del grupo estudiado descendió notablemente de 0,83 a 0,27 mg/dl al día 21.
