Influencia de la migración en el rendimiento académico en hijos/as adolescentes de padres migrantes de la Unidad Educativa Checa de la parroquia Checa.Cuenca, 2015

Abstract

Objective: This research has, as the main objective, to investigate the influence of migration on academic performance in adolescent’s children/learners of migrant parents “Unidad Educativa Checa”. Cuenca. 2015. Methods: This research is qualitative and quantitative, because it allowed us to determine the academic performance of the children / learners of migrant parents and the influence of migration at the same. A survey was applied to 182 adolescents in their third year of high school who are active in the Checa Education Unit, getting 85 children with migrant parents will study the universe. The techniques used for data collection were document review, direct observation and surveys. As a tool, we use a form developed and validated by the authors, with the implementation of the pilot. The tabulation and analysis of this research was through statistical programs, Excel and SPSS version 15.0 for Windows in Spanish, the results are presented through frequency tables for a better view of the problems encountered in this investigative process. RESULTS The results to conduct research obtained teenagers from the ninth to the third year of high school are: 182 students a total of 85 students representing children/ learners of migrant parent’s percentage 46.7% were obtained. Of the total of children/ learners of migrant parents males have the highest percentage with 54.12% and the course with the highest percentage with migrant parents is the ninth with 13.2% of which 50.6% live only with their mothers demonstrating migration from parents. International migration has a majority stake of 89.41%. In the Academic Performance we have 84.7% of students achieved the learning and learning dominates 7.1%, 47.1% of households have an income of base salary; it is worrying that 61.2% of adolescents do not have support from their fathers
