Abstract
The Baños parish is located 8km away from Cuenca canton; which has interesting cultural and natural resources, highlighting the thermal springs that provide multiple health benefits. However, the thermal springs of Pumamaqui is unknown, it is located north of the parish at 45 minutes via Soldados. These thermal waters are in a natural state and surrounded by little-disturbed nature, which has generated greater interest for visitors due to the tranquility and purity of its waters. Reason for which they have tried to take advantage of this resource for the development of the tourist activity. For this reason, in the present academic essay it is necessary to carry out the analysis of the tourist potential in order to publicize the health benefits and generate sources of income for the inhabitants of the Pumamaqui sector. One of the objectives is to determine the profile of the tourist as well as to propose strategies and activities for the tourist promotion of the sector.
Resumen
La parroquia Baños, se localiza a 8km del cantón Cuenca; la cual posee interesantes recursos culturales y naturales, destacándose las aguas termales las mismas que brindan múltiples beneficios para la salud. Sin embargo se desconoce la existencia de las aguas termales del sector Pumamaqui ubicado al norte de la parroquia a 45 minutos en la vía a Soldados. Estas aguas termales que se encuentran en estado natural y rodeado de naturaleza poco intervenida, lo que ha generado mayor interés por los visitantes debido a la tranquilidad del sector y pureza de sus aguas. Motivo por el cual se pretende aprovechar este recurso para el desarrollo de la actividad turística. Por esta razón, en el presente ensayo académico se requiere realizar el análisis del potencial turístico con la finalidad de dar a conocer los beneficios para la salud y generar fuentes de ingreso a los habitantes del sector Pumamaqui. Uno de los objetivos es determinar el perfil del turista al igual que plantear estrategias y actividades para la promoción turística del sector.
